Faith, Art and Francophilia

Yup, these are the things that make my soul sing: faith, art, and francophilia, in that order.

My faith is what drives everything my life includes. I have complete and utter faith that this little platform exists now, because God inspired it, as a way for me to share some of my thoughts, musings, and experiences of being led, daily, by Him. I am a woman enormously, tremendously blessed. I am a constant seeker of His character, His wisdom, His perceptions, and ultimately His purpose for my life.( I know; this is where some of you are rolling your eyes.) Taking literally the concept of “walking by faith, not by sight” proves to be sometimes easier said than done, but always good; a path full of amazing adventures, most beyond my wildest dreams. The more I strive to live according to my belief, literally, in that what’s contained in that Big Book is true, and JUST DO IT, the more abundantly enriched my life becomes. (Okay; some of you are asking yourselves, ” Does she really believe this stuff”? Yes, she does, is the answer.)

I was born an artist; always have been, and always will be. I take no credit; I was endowed this by God, and am simply a steward of this gift. (By now, some of you are maybe even throwing up in your mouths a little bit.) Painting makes my soul sing at the top of its lungs! My “canvas” can be anything; from a chair, to a shoe, a closet door, or apron. These things are all the same to me; painting is painting. I am blessed to do for a living, what I simply adore to do.

For almost two decades, I’ve resided partly in France. France beckoned me, and then rolled out its red carpet, one cafe’, one chausson pomme, one tiny brocante at a time. From Paris to the South of France, this country makes my soul sing even louder! The life that I see, breathe, and tread, fills my cup to overflowing. I bask in, and depict in my work, the nooks and crannies of France’s landscapes and life-scapes that I uncover. I fall in love with the place over and over. Tout, c’est mangnifique! C’est superbe, la France, toujours!
